Annually our Houses and Family Room provided comfort and care to more than 8,000 families as well as opened our doors to support over 40,000 visits from family and friends of in-patients at Children’s Mercy.”

Provides a place to stay and rest
With four houses and a dedicated Family Room for families in Children’s Mercy Hospital itself, RMHCKC ensures families are able to stay close as their children recieve medical treatment at the Children’s Mercy campus. This also eliminates the financial burden of hotel costs.
Offers support, resources & events
Whether it’s fun activities for patients and their siblings, events for the whole family, or helpful resources to assist parents in navigating their child’s journey, the programs offered by RMHC in its houses, Family Room, and elsewhere are impactful.
Provides delicious, nutritious meals
In the Houses themselves and the Family Room within Children’s Mercy Hospital, families can look forward to meals and snacks provided by donors and the community. Families have enough on their minds about without a growling tummy to worry about!
Builds community
Few people can imagine the journey these families are on, until they experience it themselves. By giving patients, parents, and siblings a safe, peaceful place to network and support each other, RMHCKC is helping to build meaninful communities and connections.
